Hungary ratified the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2006. The Hungarian National Committee for Intangible Cultural Heritage and the Hungarian National Inventory of the Intangible Cultural Heritage was established in 2008.
Since April 2009 the responsible body for the implementation of the Convention in Hungary is the Intangible Cultural Heritage Department of the Hungarian Open Air Museum. Currently eight elements are inscribed on the national inventory.

ICH Festival and Pentacost Games in the Hungarian Open Air Museum

Eight elements of the national spiritual and cultural heritage of Hungary are introduced on the 12-13th June in the Pentecost Games. Folk bands, singers and dance companies are coming to the Skanzen from three different foreign countries: from Romania, Craoatia and Slovakia. The festival will boast a cavalcade of a fair, performances, handicraft shows and a playhouse.
